It is not an unusual scenario for clients to receive County Court Judgements and rack up mortgage arrears. What does this mean in the context of remortgaging? This market is referred to as the sub-prime or adverse credit market. Whilst being a specialist market there are options available for people wanting a poor credit remortgage. People in these situations may want to remortgage to pay off mortgage arrears and clear CCJs. There are lenders who will consider a variety of scenarios. For example, if you have CCJs that are higher than is normal there are lenders that will look at the number of CCJs and will ignore the value.
