Is a VA Mortgage Really a Good Deal?
(presented by www.refinance-refinance.net - mortgage lenders)

By Glenn Keller

So you are thinking about buying a home and want to make an educated decision on choosing a mortgage? Okay, did you serve in the Armed forces previously or are you in the Armed Forces now? If so, it is hard to beat a VA insured mortgage to purchase your new home. Why you might ask? A VA insured mortgage is designed to make home buying much easier for the Veteran and his/her family. A VA mortgage provides 100% financing. No down payment is required! Even the closing costs for the homebuyer can be paid by the seller of the property up to 6% of the total value or sales price. The qualifying is much easier than standard conforming conventional mortgage loans. The Veterans Administration guarantees 25% of the loan to the lender. Therefore making the guidelines much easier for the qualified veteran homebuyer.

When buying a home there are many mortgage options, companies and options to choose from. If a potential veteran home buyer does not have a down payment, has satisfactory credit and wants to make an excellent choice in financing, a VA insured mortgage simply cannot be beat! Please beware of any lender that would tell you otherwise! Some companies and mortgage brokers either are not qualified to make these loans or simply just don’t know how to. When choosing a company or broker, please take the time to interview him/her. Ask the right questions. Discuss rates, terms, closing costs and associated fees. The VA does not set the interest rates, so they may vary from lender to lender.

My opinion is that the VA insured mortgage is one of the best values on the financial market today for the Veteran homebuyer. Shop around and find a lender or broker that knows this loan product. You will be happy that you did!
